Place the transfer case in 4lo, connect the shifting cable and adjust it from either end until the stud reaches the center of the shifter mounting point, on mine there was about a 1/2" gap at the console when in 4lo.

The cable part on the Novak and the Advance look almost identical in how they sit and get installed. The Advance part also replaces the shifter inside the jeep and the small lever on the t-case. It has 2 brackets with the kit. 1 to mount to the tub and the other to the transfer case. It has a cable that drives the shifting instead of the hard linkage that is there now. I just got the one in the 99, it took about 4 hours with wrestling with rusty bolts and crap but all in all a fairly easy install. No more rattle and it shifts like butter and stays in gear !! I can't wait to get to work on the 06 now. I would recommended this kit to anyone. I've installed a few of them and even made my own for one vehicle while I was waiting on Novak to get finished up with theirs. Then I even cut one of theirs up and adapted it to the 231 because I didn't want to make another one. optical reality
